G-RF board member resigns
GEORGETOWN — For the fifth time in the last 15 months, officials are seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Georgetown-Ridge Farm school board.
Diane Dawson, who was elected last April, is the latest member to resign. Board President Kevin Latoz said Dawson cited a time commitment to another organization as her reason for leaving.
Latoz said the board hopes to seat a new member soon. Candidates have until April 25 to submit letters of interest to the district office.
Under board policy, appointed members must run in the next available regular school board election, which in this case will be in April 2015.
Latoz said that ballot will be an unusual one because of the high number of seats up for grabs. Of the seven school board spots, only one seat — Carla Pollman's — won't be on the ballot next April.
