Man gets 15 years for criminal sexual assault

URBANA — A Champaign man who admitted sexually molesting a teen-age girl in his home has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Bobby Lee Dorsey, 52, who listed an address in the 200 block of West Beardsley Avenue, pleaded guilty Monday before Judge Tom Difanis to criminal sexual assault.

The Class 1 felony charge accused him of raping a teen-age girl during the month of July 2013. Dorsey knew the girl.

In exchange for his guilty plea, two other counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse were dismissed.

He was given credit on his sentence for 77 days already served.

Because of prior convictions, Dorsey had to be sentenced as a Class X offender to between six and 30 years. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Assistant State's Attorney Stephanie Weber said Dorsey had prior convictions for theft, domestic battery, delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and aggravated battery.
