Broadlands preparing for 125th

BROADLANDS — Plans for the village's 125th anniversary celebration are moving along.

Ideas discussed during April's village trustees meeting included having a two-day event with a street dance, bingo, a beer tent, a car show, a motorcycle show, a tractor pull, concessions, poker night, a cake walk and giveaways.

No dates have been finalized but the events will be in August and the board agreed to host car and motorcycle shows. In addition, bands are being reserved and a beer tent is being arranged.

Posters to advertise the event will be coordinated with the Community Club. The Community Club will host the Philo Country Show, the Broadlands Follies, an appearance by The Strongman, a tractor show, the parade, the Moo Mobile and the Fish Fry and Pork Chop Dinner.

Community club members and residents of the village are invited to attend the next village board meeting on May 7 to provide input on discussions.

Ms. Walsh-

In which year will this 125th anniversary celebration occur?  2014?  2015?  2016?

That's an important detail, which is currently missing.
