St. Joseph banquet to honor citizens

ST. JOSEPH — Parks and Recreation Director Victoria Becker will be honored as St. Joseph's citizen of the year on Thursday night at the chamber's annual banquet.

Other headliners:

— Boy Scout Troop 40 is the chamber's organization of the year.

— The St. Joseph IGA is the business of the year.

— Lt. Col. Scott Swinford, director of military support for the Illinois National Guard, will be the guest speaker. A St. Joseph-Ogden High School graduate, Swinford will talk about his experience in the military and how growing up in St. Joseph shaped his outlook on the world.

The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. at the Church of Christ in St. Joseph. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $14.
