Cancer support group planning fundraiser

IVESDALE — A fundraiser is being planned for a childhood-cancer support group based in the village.

The board heard a request from Frank Pfeifer of the Band of Brothers Motorcycle Club to host a street party featuring a benefit motorcycle show for the Camden Foundation on July 19 in downtown Ivesdale.

Pfeifer said the Tuscola Moose Lodge is donating a smoker for preparing food. DJ Brian Miller is scheduled to provide music from 2 to 6 p.m. outside and 7 to 10 p.m. inside the Ivesdale Tavern.

Pfeifer asked if Chapin Street, the main street downtown, could be blocked off for the outdoor festivities. He added that he works for a licensed and bonded security company that could provide security staff for the event at no cost to the village.

Camden Foundation's mission is to raise money for St. Jude, bring awareness to local communities and sponsor families affected by childhood cancer in central Illinois.
