Juveniles caught at scene of fire

FARMER CITY — Four juvenile suspects were caught as they tried to leave the scene of a fire Thursday on the Archer Daniels Midland property north of Blue Ridge High School.

Farmer City Manager Larry Woliung said he saw the group leaving the scene, and he was able to chase them down. He then turned them over to police.

Woliung said ADM officials and the Farmer City Police Department were discussing the incident, and that the investigation is ongoing.

Farmer City firefighters responded to the blaze at 5:15 p.m. Thursday.

The fire was extinguished by 6 p.m. and no firefighters were injured, Fire Chief Dan Warren said.
