Westville hires contractor for village hall work

WESTVILLE — A local contractor has been hired to replace the worn steps and landing leading to the mayor's office on the exterior of the village hall.

Board members voted to have Mark Lete of Westville do the work for $875. They'd also considered having village workers construct wooden steps, but ultimately decided to hire a contractor who could provide a concrete entrance.

In other business, the board has approved the one-year reappointments of Ed Barney as village attorney, Mike Bennett as gas and water superintendent, Paul Miller as streets and alleys superintendent, David Booe as police chief and Jeff Slavik as zoning administrator.
