Catlin board adopts balanced budget

CATLIN — Officials adopted a balanced $652,500 budget for the 2014-15 fiscal year.

Board members plan to generate about $660,500 between May 1 and April 30, 2015, which is expected to create an $8,000 surplus at the end of the year.

Mayor James Robinson said the village plans to replace a truck at the water department later this year, and is building up funds to add some water-park features at the village park.

The 2013-14 budget called for the village to generate about $590,800 in revenues and to spend about $630,700, but Robinson said a major street-resurfacing project on Meadowlane last year was a factor in that imbalance.
