Tolono board OKs street repair plans

TOLONO — The village board has approved making $72,000 worth of street repairs this year.

Engineer Tim LaRocque of Foth Infrastructure and Environment said that Microsurfacing Contractors of Peoria could slurry seal Central Street from River Road to Allison Drive and Walnut Street from the railroad tracks to Central Street for $3.50 per square yard. With $2,500 allotted for traffic control, the total cost would be about $60,000.

The amount the board approved for the repairs is the amount of motor fuel tax revenue generated on average annually.
