Speaker to discuss link between brain, stomach

CHAMPAIGN — If you've ever felt sick from fear, or uplifted by eating a treat, you already know there's a connection going on between your stomach and your brain.

Here's a chance to find out more about the gut-brain connection and how it happens.

Bryan White, director of the Mayo Clinic/University of Illinois Strategic Alliance for Technology-Based Health Care, will speak from 6-7:30 p.m. May 20 at the Presence Center for Healthy Living, 410 E. University of Ave., C, in the wellness room.

It is free and open to the public, but registration is required by calling 337-2022.

The center's director, Candy Gilbert, said there will be refreshments served, and time for questions and answers.
