Urbana school board approves raises for non-union employees and administrators

URBANA — Urbana school district non-union employees and administrators will be getting a pay raise on July 1.

The Urbana school board voted 7-0 on Tuesday to approve a 3.1 percent pay increase for non-union support staff, clerical staff, maintenance and custodial staff and administrators for the 2014-15 school year.

Superintendent Don Owen said the pay hike matched a 3.1 percent increase for union employees that was negotiated two years ago. The three-year agreement with the Urbana Education Association will expire at the end of the 2014-15 school year.
