Unity boosters getting loan for concession/restroom building

TOLONO — The Unit 7 school district is loaning the Unity Athletic Alumni Association money for a new concession stand/restroom project at Unity High School's baseball field.

The project is being done to eliminate the need for rented portable restrooms.

The athletic alumni association is planning cash bash and golf outing fundraisers and has agreed to pay back the district within 15 months.

The board voted to loan up to $24,000 and to cover the cost of architectural fees. The total project cost is estimated at about $30,000.

The new concession stand building would be shut down in the offseason and would not be heated in the winter.
