MTD hearings set on routes, annexations

CHAMPAIGN — A public hearing on proposed route and schedule changes for the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 16 at CityView, the fourth floor space at the Illinois Terminal, 45 E. University Ave., in downtown Champaign.

No formal presentation will be made about the route and schedule changes that will go into effect in August. Maps showing the proposed changes will be displayed and MTD staff will be present to answer any questions.

The hearing is separate from upcoming annexation hearings, also in June. Those public meetings on the MTD annexations will be:

— 7 p.m. June 11, St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 2200 S. Philo Road, U, for residents of the Stone Creek subdivision.

— 7 p.m. June 12, Savoy Recreation Center, 402 Graham Drive, Savoy, for residents of the Lake Park subdivision, south of Champaign.
