Westville board OKs sale of old squad car

WESTVILLE — Board members voted to sell an older squad car and purchase a new one for the police department.

The village will seek bids for the purchase of the 2007 Dodge Charger, which has about 122,000 miles on it. It will purchase a 2015 all-wheel-drive Ford Taurus from Morrow Brothers Ford of Greenfield for about $31,250.

Police Chief David Booe said the new squad car would be able to go almost anywhere a sports utility vehicle could go.

The board also voted to have the Champaign Planning Commission make a new aerial-view map of the village, showing its streets and boundaries, for about $500. The main map will be framed and displayed in village hall, Mayor Mike Weese said.
