Police arrest woman accused in stabbing

URBANA — An Urbana woman accused of stabbing another woman in the head at an Urbana apartment complex earlier this month is now in police custody.

Champaign police arrested Tianna Eiermann, 18, of the 1900 block of Oliver Drive, on Tuesday afternoon.

A warrant charging her with aggravated battery had been issued May 9.

Urbana police said about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, officers were called to the Hamilton on the Park complex at the corner of Wright and Eads streets for a large fight in the parking lot.

Police said a woman, later identified as Eiermann, had allegedly stabbed another woman in the head and then got in a parked car that other angry women surrounded. The crowd dispersed after a man allegedly pulled a gun and warned the angry women to back off.

Urbana police investigator Duane Maxey said the victim was treated at a local hospital and released after receiving several stitches. Maxey said from what he was able to learn, he believed the women "were arguing over a common male friend."

Neither Eiermann nor the victim lived at the apartment complex, which has been the scene of several police calls since it opened last fall.
