Woman gets six years for burglary

URBANA — A Thomasboro woman who admitted she entered a home in Rantoul intending to steal has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Yahaira Cuevas, 33, who listed an address in the 400 block of John Street, pleaded guilty Thursday before Judge Tom Difanis to residential burglary. She admitted that she went in a home in the 1200 block of Cypress Lane, Rantoul, on May 13, took a television and money and then left.

She was found less than two hours later in Rantoul and arrested.

Assistant State's Attorney Stephanie Weber said Cuevas had a previous conviction for residential burglary.
