To mark the 75th anniversary of Little League baseball, we're asking readers for team photos and pleasant memories. Submit them by emailing online editor Mike Howie at mhowie@news-gazette.com.

Ted Curtin, 86, lives in Monticello today. In 1968, he coached White Line to the Champaign Border League championship. Good baseball, however, wasn't the only thing he remembered.

"The real attraction was the fire station close to our field on Prospect (Avenue). They had a pop machine that the Little League kids patronized all day long."

Among Curtin's players on the White Line team: Former Champaign Central boys' basketball coach Scott Davis, still one of the area's top boys' tennis coaches. The White Line team photo is part of our gallery.
