Ivesdale OKs street repair bid

IVESDALE — Village trustees on Monday approved a bid of $40,343.03 from Urbana-based Illiana Construction for street repairs will be funded through motor fuel tax revenue.

Chain Street in downtown will be resurfaced and other surfaces will be oiled and chipped. The work is expected to be completed by the end of August.

Tom Overmyer of Phoenix Consulting Engineers said the amount approved will buy about 4,700 gallons of oil.

Streets and Alleys Committee members Nathan Somers and Gary Jean have been working with Overmyer to determine which streets most need to be repaired.

Last month the village board appropriated up to $44,000 to be spent from the motor fuel tax fund for the 2014-15 fiscal year.
