Three wounded in Danville shooting

DANVILLE — Danville police are investigating an early morning shooting on Friday that injured three people.

Director of Public Safety Larry Thomason said police were called to the first block of Kentucky Street around 12:30 a.m. Friday on a report of shots fired.

Officers found a 44-year old male, a 46-year old female and a 16-year old male injured from what appeared to be gunshots.

Thomason said the three victims had been outside on the porch prior to the shooting, according to witnesses. Officers found the older male on the front porch and the others inside the house.

The two male victims were rushed to an Urbana hospital, and the female was taken to Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, where she was treated and released.

The older male is listed in critical but stable condition and the younger male is listed as stable, according to Thomason.

No motive has been determined in the shooting, and Danville police detectives continue to interview witnesses and seek information.

Danville police are asking anyone with information about this shooting to them at 431-2250.
