Chain-reaction wreck on U.S. 136 injures one

RANTOUL - One person was hurt in a three-vehicle collision east of Rantoul Saturday afternoon.

Illinois State Police at Pesotum said a sport utility vehicle headed east on U.S. 136 had slowed to make a left turn on to County Road 2100 N when it was hit from behind at 3:53 p.m.

The driver of the car that hit it was a 51-year-old woman from Cissna Park. She sustained what police called non-life-threatening injuries. 

After the first collision, a third vehicle hit the rear end of the one driven by the Cissna Park woman. 

Police have not released the names of any of the people involved in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
