St. Joseph festival tonight

ST. JOSEPH — St. Joseph will kick off summer with a festival tonight.

The event will take place on Main Street, from the four-way stop to Lincoln Street, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.It's the second year the village has held a small festival in June.

Parks and Recreation Director Victoria Becker said there will be a bouncy slide for children, a petting zoo, face painting, relay races and a water balloon toss.

Corvettes from the Corvette Club of Illinois will be on display downtown from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Roch's will host a DJ from 5-8 p.m., and Mayor B.J. Hackler expects other downtown businesses to have food for sale outside their restaurants.

The Tons O' Fun Band will perform in the IGA parking lot from 8 to 11 p.m.
