Catlin board member, moving from area, steps down

CATLIN — Barry Voorhees stepped down from the village board this week because he is moving to Indiana.

Voorhees, a board member since February 2009, said he was most proud of helping pave the way for a Dollar General store in the village, make upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant and see the village make better use of technology.

Jim Miller was installed to fill Voorhees' seat. Miller recently served a four-year term on the board, and will take over as commissioner of accounts and finance.

Miller, Robinson and the other three board members will all be up for re-election in May, 2015.
