Frying pan attack leads to probation

URBANA — A Rantoul woman who admitted hitting a woman with a frying pan has been sentenced to 30 months of probation.

Taneshia Randolph, 36, of the 1500 block of Hobson Drive, pleaded guilty Wednesday to aggravated battery. She admitted to Judge Tom Difanis that on June 4, she got into a fight with a woman in the 1200 block of Aspen Drive, Rantoul, over a man.

During the fight, police said Randolph hit the woman in the face and later picked up a frying pan and hit her in the head with it.

In return for the plea, a more serious charge of home invasion was dismissed as was a separate case accusing Randolph of driving under suspension.

She was also ordered to attend anger management classes and have no contact with the woman she hit.
