Champaign schools seek alums for video

CHAMPAIGN — If you've ever attended Champaign schools you can share your favorite school memory as part of a new video.

The school district will tape messages from alumni next week for a back-to-school video for faculty and staff.

Alumni will be asked to talk about their favorite school memory, or a teacher or staff member who made a difference in their lives.

You can stop by any time during two public taping sessions next week:

— 1 to 4 p.m. July 15 at the Champaign Public Library, 200 W. Green St.

— 7 to 11:30 a.m. July 16 at Panera Bread Co., 1765 W. Kirby Ave., C.

The videographer will be Sam Ambler, who also filmed the "Suit and Tie in the 217" video earlier this year.

The district has sponsored back-to-school cookouts and concerts for employees in the past, but this year "we wanted to do something that makes an impact on them," said spokeswoman Stephanie Stuart.
