Plaque to honor former Georgetown councilwoman

GEORGETOWN — City officials say a plaque honoring a former councilwoman may be in place in time for the Georgetown Fair in early August.

Alderwoman Janet Martin said private donations had been received to purchase a plaque honoring Wilma Wilming. It will be placed on the large rock near the northern entrance sign for the city.

Wilming served for five years as an alderwoman, and passed away in 2013.

Martin said Wilming's daughters were purchasing the plaque, with donors' help. No public money is being used for the purchase, she said.
