Buckley sets fee, rules for renting lake property

BUCKLEY — The village board agreed to require a $100-per-day fee be paid for renting the village lake property.

The board also agreed that a written agreement with a set of guidelines concerning the use of the lake property should be adopted. Village Clerk Jim Biggs will draft some ideas for consideration by the board in August.

In other business:

— There was much discussion among trustees about how a gas station and grocery store could improve the commerce in the village. Some trustees believe that if the village puts together a plan with some genuine and informative data about events and needs of the residents and rewards that could be offered to businesses, some interest could be created. No formal action was taken.

— The board voted 4-1 to buy a camera for a squad car. The cost of the new camera, including installation, will be about $1,500.
