Ready for a FAIR bit of fun

URBANA — There's more music and a new ride at the 2014 Champaign County Fair.

Among the bands are Blackjack Billy — with their big hit "Booze Cruise" — the Feudin' Hillbillys, Blackberry Smoke featuring Matt Poss Band and Scotty McCreery featuring Gracia Harrison.

Office manager Cheryl Smith said the fair continues to expand its country music offerings, something unheard of not that long ago.

There's also a new ride, the Cliffhanger.

"We've seen it at other fairs; you lie on your stomach, and it feels something like parasailing," Smith said.
