Police investigate home invasion

CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating a home invasion and robbery Thursday in Champaign.

According to a report, police were called to an apartment in the 500 block of West Beardsley Avenue at 8:50 p.m. Thursday.

The victims said that two men forced their way into the apartment, stole some marijuana and hit one of the three people inside the apartment before fleeing from the building.

No injuries were reported, police said. The description of the two intruders was incomplete.

Why were the three not arrested?

Because they want to encourage victims of crime to report it.
