Woman still in hospital from weekend DUI crash

PHILO - An Urbana woman remained hospitalized Monday morning with injuries she received in a drunken driving crash early Saturday.

Champaign County sheriff's Sgt. Greg Mills said Lisa Emmert, 24, of the 100 block of West Washington Street, Urbana, was driving her car south on Illinois 130 about a mile north of Philo when she was hit by another car.

The driver of the car that was westbound on County Road 1000 N was identified as Sophia C. Marick, 18, who listed an address in the 900 block of West White Street, Champaign. Mills said she allegedly disobeyed the stop sign on 1000 N at Illinois 130.

Marick was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a stop sign after being treated at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Emmert was also taken to Carle, where she was listed in stable condition Monday.

Mills said the collision occurred at 1:19 a.m. Saturday.
