Employee sentenced to probation in theft from store

URBANA — A department store employee who admitted stealing from her employer has been sentenced to 18 months of probation.

Jasmine L. Mosby, 21, who listed an address in the 1600 block of East Florida Avenue,, pleaded guilty Monday to felony theft.

She admitted that between June and Aug. 2, 2013, she stole more than $500 cash by taking it out of the register while working at Bergner's in the Market Place Mall.

Assistant State's Attorney Claire Sharples-Brooks said Mosby's thefts were recorded on video.

As part of her probation, she was ordered to repay the company $770 and perform 30 hours of public service.
