Monticello resurfacing project to get underway

MONTICELLO — Contractors will start a resurfacing project on Illinois Route 105 (Market Street) through Monticello on Monday. The project will include patching, milling and bituminous resurfacing of the highway from Kratz Road to Ridings Drive, a span of 3.2 miles.

Illinois Department of Transportation officials said portions of the road will be reduced to one lane of traffic during the project, but that detours will not be needed. Traffic will be slowed, however. The resurfacing, which has a projected Nov. 7 completion date, was awarded to Open Road Paving Company for $1,270,785.
