LeRoy Water Department getting new truck

LeROY — For two years, LeRoy Water Department head Cory Edgington has been requesting a new truck for the department. His request was finally approved Monday.

The new vehicle was budgeted for, city administrator Dave Jenkins noted, and it was about time to replace the old truck.

The truck, a Ford F250 Super Cab, cost $30,804 from Bob Ridings Inc. Hutch's Motor Co. in LeRoy was approached for a bid, but decided not to put one in, Jenkins said.

Edgington said the old truck will be replaced as the primary vehicle, as it is 14 years old, but it will not be put out to pasture.

"This will allow us some flexibility," Edgington said. "If one vehicle goes in for service, we will still have a vehicle to work with."
