Cause of Urbana apartment fire to be undetermined

The cause of a fire that damaged an Urbana apartment last week will remain undetermined.

That's according to Urbana Fire Marshal Phil Edwards, who added that no foul play is suspected in the blaze.

Crews responded to the fire at 1905 North Cunningham Avenue at around 3:50 p.m. this past Thursday.  They were able to get the blaze under contol fairly quickly, and there were no human injuries.  However, two dogs did not survive.  Damage is estimated at $35,000 to $40,000.

Edwards on Tuesday did not have information on where the fire started.
