Marijuana cultivation group chooses Clinton
CLINTON — Farmer City is out of the running for a medicinal marijuana cultivation center.
The group that was in discussion with city manager Larry Woliung told DeWitt County Board members: "You beat out Farmer City."
Woliung confirmed that he had been informed that Clinton was a better fit for the interests of the group, as there was a pre-existing structure that could be used.
The group differs from American Cannabis Enterprises, which is in contact with LeRoy and will host an informational meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Legion Hall.
It is up to the state which group will be allowed to place the facility, and there can only be one in police District 6, which includes Clinton, Farmer City and LeRoy.
