AUDIO: a look a which area law enforcement agencies are thinking about body cams

With the shooting of an unarmed teenager in Ferguson, Missouri, last month, the topic of police officers wearing body cameras has picked up steam lately. One area sheriff's office has already been using the devices, while other local law enforcement agencies are looking into possibly getting them as well. Michael Kiser reports.

A Champaign Police Department spokesperson said the department has no official position on the use of body cameras at this time.

Every public official should be VERY CONCERNED and INFORMED while providing SERVICE to the populace. AS AMERICAN CITIZENS, privacy as well as each and every other important constitutional concern must be pursued with accordance to the RIGHTS of THE PEOPLE as enumerated in the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION, the most important and highest laws of the land. Those who are positions of "authority" as well as those who seek such, push their agendas alongside with the development and institution of technology, often in defiance with the PRINCIPLES of LIBERTY.

These cameras can, will, and are of great SERVICE, but LAWS MUST BE WRITTEN AND FOLLOWED TO PROTECT ALL from freedom eroding monsters and dragons that certainly abound. I do not welcome the centralized authoritarian surveillance state. We must protect ourselves and each other from this evil that returns again and again in societies and follow this great set of laws that keeps this beast beaten and week. Facial recognition programs have already been implemented and with increasingly fast deployment, look it up and get informed. Huge amounts of money have been spent on these "traffic monitoring" cameras which are now canvassing most all intersections. Did you know that those can, will, and are be used to spy on the general public. Those cameras are being used in conjunction facial recognition systems and I imagine this will be the case with police cams too.

This is VERY CREEPY and rank of back-door implementation and DISTRUST. KNOWLEDGE, AWARENESS, LEADERSHIP are all required in order for PROTECTION of all citizens. Law implementation should be lockstep with the CONSTITUTION. So I am definitely promoting cameras on COPS, Both from citizens filming them as well as cops wearing them. Live free of DIE..
