Two-vehicle accident on Neil at Windsor hampering traffic

CHAMPAIGN — Three people were injured and traffic slowed in south Champaign following a two-vehicle accident Thursday morning.

Champaign police Sgt. Bruce Ramseyer said about 8:20 a.m., a car was stopped in the northbound lane of Neil Street when a southbound pickup truck hit the car, rolled over the top of the car and came to rest on its wheels.

Ramseyer described the injuries to the two occupants of the car as minor and said the sole occupant of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital.

Both northbound driving lanes of Neil and the eastbound turn lane to Windsor are closed as emergency workers do their jobs. Traffic is getting by in the turn lane.

Traffic is also hampered in the turn lane of eastbound Windsor Road.

The vehicles have to be towed from the crash site.
