Danville school board candidates to meet public

DANVILLE — District voters have an opportunity on Saturday to meet two candidates who are running for the school board in the April 7 election.

A meet-and-greet for Jane Campbell and Gladys Davis will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. in the first-floor community room of the Danville Public Library. It is open to the public.

People will have a chance to meet the two candidates and learn about their "Change for Children" vision for Danville schools.

Seven people are running for three open seats. The other candidates include current board President Bill Dobbles, the only incumbent, and Shannon Bireline Schroeder, Thomas W. Miller, Wade Adams and Shelly Larson.

Both Danville natives, Campbell and Davis are veteran educators and community activists. They are founding members of the Danville Caucus grassroots organization that has provided tutoring and mentoring to at-risk students since 2008.
