Scotty's Brewhouse coming to town

CHAMPAIGN — Scotty's Brewhouse, which has a host of restaurants centered around Indianapolis, announced today that it will open its first Illinois location this spring at the Carriage Center in south Champaign.

The restaurant, which will be located at 2001 S. Neil St., will feature the traditional Scotty’s Brewhouse food menu, full service bar with 30 draft beers and will join the other Brewhouse locations in carrying beer from Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Company.

“We are so excited to finally enter the Champaign market,” said Scott Wise, President and CEO of a Pots & Pans Production, the management company for Scotty’s Brewhouse, Scotty’s Brew Club and Thr3e Wise Men Brewing Co. “I’ve been searching this market for almost four years now trying to find the right opportunity. We have finally found it and a great partnership with Shapland Realty at Carriage Center.”

Scotty’s will employ 75-100 full- and part-time workers and will begin taking applications online beginning late winter 2015.

There has been a host of restaurant activity in recent months at the new Carriage Center with the openings of Wendy's, Starbucks, Moe's Southwest Grill and Brixx Pizza.

Every trip to Indy includes a stop at Scotty's.  Should become the #1 burger in town.  CU, brace yourselves for the Shewman.

Yes, so far it is mainly a food court.  And then another mid-range supermarket and a hardware store when there is a good one a few blocks away.  Anybody have any imagination?  Interesting shops?

And how about Curtis and 45?  So far, a drug store across the street from... a pharmacy.

They are closing the small County Market on State and Kirby and opening a much larger location. The closest other grocery store is Schnuck's in Savoy. If you go one block to the west, you'll notice office buildings with over 1,000 white-collar workers. They chose this spot to build restaurants for a reason. It's close enough to U of I, an affluent neighborhood, and office buildings.
