Tips sought about man who robbed grocery

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign County Crime Stoppers and the Champaign Police Department need help solving an armed robbery at a grocery store on the city's northwest side.

At 8 p.m. Dec. 26, an armed man entered El Progreso, 1001 W. Bloomington Road, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber is described as black, about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and dark boots. He used a silver handgun and carried a black and red backpack.

Remember when Trayvon Martin got taken out when he attacked Zimmerman, and anyone who brought up the fact that crimes are often committed while the perp is in a hoody (and yes, it's verifiable) was branded a racist?
