Urbana school board leadership remains same after swearing-in

URBANA — Urbana school board leadership will remain the same for another two years.

A month after five current members were elected to five open seats on the board, Brenda Carter, Ruth Ann Fisher, Peggy Patten, John Dimit and Anne Hall were officially sworn in Tuesday night.

The board again selected Dimit as president and Benita Rollins-Gay as vice president. Fisher was named secretary and Carter secretary pro tempore.

The board also approved its regular meeting schedule for next school year — the first and third Tuesdays of each month.

There was some discussion over changing the meeting time from 7:30 p.m. to 7, but members ultimately kept the schedule as is because it worked better with their schedules.
