7 nursing home employees to be recoginzed for exceptional care

URBANA — Seven Champaign County Nursing Home employees will be recognized Friday for excellence in care, according to Friends of Champaign County Nursing Home.

They were singled out by family members, community members and residents for providing exceptional care, the organization said.

Recipients include certified nursing assistants Nelly Yunga and Senait Stifanos, nurse Sheila Stricklin, dental hygienist Elaine George, social services assistant Howard George and beauticians Laura Greece and Terri Savage.

All seven are being recognized at the inaugural Above and Beyond employee and donor recognition event sponsored by the Friends of Champaign County Nursing Home.

Above and Beyond is a program that invites community members, resident families and others to make a donation to Friends of the Champaign County Nursing Home in honor of an employee they wish to recognize for "above and beyond" care or gestures of kindness. The Friends organization is a community group formed to advance care at the nursing home.
