Weather leads to United cancellations at Willard

SAVOY — Four flights in a row were canceled for the new United Airlines service at University of Illinois Willard Airport, largely due to weather conditions, an airport official said.

A Tuesday evening flight was canceled due to a maintenance issue and all three Wednesday flights were cancelled due to weather conditions in Chicago, according to Willard's associate director, Steve Wanzek.

United Airlines started three daily flights between Willard and Chicago O'Hare International Airport on June 8.
