Police seek tips on four suspects

CHAMPAIGN — This week Champaign County Crime Stoppers and Champaign police need help solving several forgery and burglary to motor vehicle cases.

Over the last couple weeks, vehicles have been broken into in Champaign as well as other towns in Illinois and Indiana.

Some of the same suspects have been identified in more than one burglary where checks are being stolen and cashed, then used to purchase gift cards at businesses.

The suspects are described as two black males and two white females, all between 20 and 30 years of age. Suspect 1 is a black man, thin build, seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white heart on the front, and gray shorts with a zebra type stripe down the side. Suspect 2 is a black man, slightly heavier with short black hair, seen wearing a gray and black jacket, white T-shirt, and blue pants with two stripes down the side.

Suspect 3 is a white woman with dark hair, heavyset, seen wearing a black sweater and a black and white skirt or dress. Suspect 4 is a white woman with long dark hair, seen wearing a mauve long-sleeved shirt and jeans.

If you have any information regarding these crimes, please contact Detective Sgt. David Griffet at 217-351-4545, or you may contact Crime Stoppers at 217-373-TIPS, 373tips.com, or through a free app for smart phones called P3 Tips.

Tipsters are always completely anonymous when contacting Crime Stoppers. All tips submitted are electronically stripped of any identifying information and processed by a third-party answering service, not law enforcement.

Cash rewards of up to $1,000 are paid for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters will never be asked their names and are given a secret code number to use when checking on a possible reward.
