Top of the Morning, Oct. 13, 2017

Senior JOEY WRIGHT showed Urbana High in all its glory with a Snapchat story Thursday.

An up-and-comer in our business, Wright did a bang-up job from morning announcements through the final bell. Take a look for yourself by searching for "news-gazette" on the social-media app.

On to my weekend recommendations:

"The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," 10:30 p.m., CBS

Always fun when one talk-show hosts welcomes another talk-show host as his guest. Colbert will chat with Conan O'Brien, who went from NBC to TBS. Comedian Tig Notaro is also scheduled. Make sure you tune in for the opening of the show.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC

One of T.O.T.M.'s favorite comedic actors, Kumail Nanjiani, serves as this week's host with musical guest Pink. Nanjiani got rave reviews for "The Big Sick," which scored a ridiculous 98 percent favorable Rotten Tomatoes.

"Ten Days in the Valley," 9 p.m., ABC

The network has been heavily promoting the show, which means it either loves it or is worried about the ratings. Critics have been kind to the mystery/crime drama about the missing daughter of a TV producer. Kyra Sedgwick and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbajestar star.
