CHAMPAIGN — An ice cream and coffee shop in downtown Champaign has closed.

Snow Meets Coffee has a sign on its door that simply states, "Sorry, we are permanently closed."

The shop, located next to Merry Ann's Diner in One Main, opened in October 2015 and sold a dessert called a "snow bing," shaved ice cream with different toppings and drizzles.

Earlier this year, Snow Meets Coffee closed temporarily for renovations. Kyo Jung, who opened the business, could not immediately be reached for comment.

Dave Jones, president of One Main Development, said he's "sure we can find someone" to replace the business but doesn't have anyone lined up yet.

"That was brand-new info to us last week as well," he said. "We're just in the process of working with them to wind down."

The one time I was there months ago, they looked half closed anyways. They were out of a lot of things, and it was dark in there. It's like they didn't want people to know they were open.
