Police still searching for suspected credit card thief

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign County Crime Stoppers and the Champaign Police Department need help finding a man who allegedly stole credit cards and used them.

About 10 a.m. on Nov. 7, a man entered a private office at Christie Clinic on University Avenue and stole credit cards from a purse. The credit cards were later used at Walmart to make purchases over $500.

The suspect is described as a tall black man, 25 to 35 years of age, with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a long-sleeve, gray shirt and jeans.

Cash rewards of up to $1,000 are paid for information leading to an arrest.

Tipsters will never be asked their names and are given a secret code number to use when checking on a possible reward.
