Top of the Morning, Feb. 22, 2018

Assistant Circulation Manager SHURREL BRANTLEY was delivering The News-Gazette around 7 a.m. Wednesday when she was stopped in her tracks: Water-covered roads near Ogden cut her morning short.

Brantley wasn't the only N-G early bird having trouble getting around Wednesday. Due to impassable roads, we were unable to reach many subscribers in Ogden, Fisher, Thomasboro, Tolono, Homer and Pesotum. For that, we apologize and thank those impacted for their patience.

The plan was to deliver Wednesday's edition with today's newspaper.

Until the water recedes — and as is the case any time a delivery issue arises — we'll make our website free of charge at least through today. That includes the eEdition, which goes live every day by 5 a.m.
