Davis sets office hours in three cities; C-U not on list

TAYLORVILLE — U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, will hold constituent office hours in three communities in his congressional district later this month, but Champaign-Urbana isn't on the schedule.

Instead the congressman will be in Springfield on Friday, in Decatur next Monday and in Maryville, in Madison County, on March 23.

Champaign County has the greatest number of voters in the 14 counties in Davis' 13th Congressional District.

The congressman's last office hours in Champaign-Urbana were in June.

"It's a big district - 14 counties and more than 700,000 constituents," noted Davis spokeswoman Ashley Phelps. "We have a full-time office in Champaign, open five days a week, that constituents are certainly welcome and encouraged to go to for help and as always, our office is responsive to calls and emails from constituents."

In his office hours, Davis meets with small groups of no more than five people for up to 10 minutes. Meetings are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Good for him.  The constant harassment from the stalkers isn't worth it.   He doesn't need to carry Champaign County to win anyway.  Congratulations, stalkers... you won.

No one has stalked or harassed Rodney Davis.

Here's the problem.    When he comes to Champaign, it turns into a complete circus environment, complete with a creepy life-sized cut out of Davis (Where's Rodney?).

Then, when these "constituents" are forced to be outside in the summertime...(the shock, the horror), they complain and whine to the media that they had to be outside and had to sweat a bit... all because they mobbed his office en masse, which was the plan all along.

Nothing more than a crisis that they created themselves, in a lame attempt to make him look bad, as if they'd been somehow mistreated.

So, he's not coming back to Champaign County anytime soon.   Shocking.

As I said before, the stalkers won.

So concerned, civically engaged constituents wait for hours for the oppurtunity to discuss their concerns with their elected representative and because a lot of people show up that's somehow an excuse to avoid coming to the most heavily populated part of the district he represents?  Just because some people disagree with him and he's forced to explain his votes?

Well gee wiz I wish I could just stop doing my job if people I didn't like were asking for things. It sure would make my life easier. But I suppose Congressman Davis is just showing where his priorities lie and that he's not interested in representing those that disagree with him. That's okay.  Come November there's a clear method for solving that situation.

By the way I think you need to look up the word stalker.  Unless people have been following Mr. Davis around or are hiding in the bushes outside of his house that I'm not aware of, the term definitely does not apply. Keeping track of the actions of your elected representatives is called being a good constituent and showing up in mass to his office when he's publicly announced the oppurtunity to speak with him is not stalking either.

Voters eager to meet with their elected representative is, in no meaning of the term, “stalking.” It’s democracy. It’s literally his job.

If Davis is such a delicate snowflake that he can’t meet with voters in public, then perhaps he should find a different line of work. He’s not even holding those “tele town halls” anymore, where his staff could control everything.

Hahahahahahahaha....

Has Davis yet denied the reports all over social media that Trump calls him Running Rodney?

Of course Rodney is afraid to hear citizens --- his constituents who he's supposed to be serving --- tell him they don't like the fact that he's such an eager lackey of our incompetent president...

Of course Rodney is scared to listen to them dare express disagreement with him...

Of course Rodney is terrified to be expected to explain himself to the lowly peasants who he believes should just shut up and vote for him...

And of course the fact that Rodney is still running away from the voters does not mean he can outrun our votes...

11/2018 is getting closer and closer...

...tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...

Seriously, if I were Davis or one of his campaign lackeys, I'd be really pissed that Trump keeps calling Davis Runnin' Rodney...

...it's really not respectful at all...

You guys should seriously try to stop the president from calling Davis that...it's really not helping...not at all...

If the stalkers won, wouldn't that make Davis a loser?
