Rietz, Champaign council member Beck endorse Jones in 13th District primary

EDWARDSVILLE — Champaign County State's Attorney Julia Rietz and Champaign City Council member Alicia Beck, along with U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Matteson, have endorsed Erik Jones in the 13th Congressional District Democratic primary.

"Democrats in the 13th have a strong group of candidates to choose from in this primary. I met with Erik early on in this process and have watched his progress during this primary race, and I am giving my endorsement to Erik Jones," Rietz said. "Erik's experience as an assistant attorney general in Illinois and in Washington in the House Oversight Committee makes him uniquely ready to go to work in Congress, and his knowledge and understanding of the issues facing his central Illinois district and our country make him the right choice for the Democratic ticket in this important election."

Jones is one of five Democrats running in the 13th District to take on U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, in November. The other candidates are Jon Ebel of Urbana, David Gill of Bloomington, Betsy Londrigan of Springfield and Angel Sides, also of Springfield. The primary is March 20.

Anyone that Julia Reitz backs?  No thanks.    I wouldn't want her "endorsement" at all.
