Search on for suspect in shooting outside Champaign convenience store

CHAMPAIGN — Police are looking for the person or people responsible for shooting a man in the parking lot of a convenience store Thursday in north Champaign.

Sgt. Matt Henson said the 26-year-old victim received a non-life-threatening wound to an upper arm.

Police were notified just before 10 p.m. that shots had been fired in the parking lot of Red Fox, 2000 N. Market St.

Officers didn't find a victim but did find bullet shells. As they were processing the scene, they were notified about 20 minutes later that a man arrived at Carle Foundation Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Henson said he was not "overly cooperative" and that police have limited information on the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Champaign police at 217-351-4545 or, if wishing to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 217-373-8477 or or via the free "P3 Tips" mobile app.

But, but what about the hundreds of thousands of dollars that CU has swindled the taxpayers of ILLINOIS out of for the Fresh Start boondoggle?  Other than offering some cushy jobs to a few of Avery's cronies there seems to be little impact.  Bangers still bangin'. wrote on March 09, 2018 at 4:03 pm

Paintings.  Paintings I say.  More hallway paintings is the answer.  Put paintings on every sign post you can find.  More paintings is the answer.

How about the usual discription, 'Black male 18-30 years old baggy pants black hoodie  dreads and walking with the "Gangster Limp" from old gunshot wound $300.00 Nike shoes, last seen holding his gat, "Gangster" style! That would be sideways! I'll bet when he is found he is on probation as just being released from the state prison less than 30 days ago!
